Captivated with amazement and awe,
At the majestic sight we saw,
In the Manning River, far upstream,
These beautiful mammals are seldom seen.
Creatures unique, artistic and rare,
So magical beyond compare,
Dolphins leaping making waves,
Jewel-like colours, glistening off spray,
Pirouetting, daintily they dive,
Stunning their beauty, so alive,
Each one a silver-like flash,
Rotating, making an awesome splash.
Synchronised swimming, like ballerinas at play,
Spiralling high in a glorious display,
Dancing and creating flambouyant acts,
Performing aerial acrobats.
Diving over and under, with a twist and a twirl,
Cutting through water to create a swirl,
Reflected images in the shimmering light,
On sparkling crystal waters, a vivid sight,
Remember these gentle creatures from the deep,
Are part of our heritage that we must keep.
