I have a great empathy with the soldiers who fought in the Vietnam conflict.
In 1967-1968 I worked as a nurse at the Prince Henry Hospital in Sydney, when some of our lads returned home from the Vietnam War.
I found it a great honour and privilege to nurse these men, because they put their life on the line and I feel that they should be respected and honoured as 'our heroes' for the job they did.
Please read my poem on the battle, entitled "Stalwart Aussie Soldiers".
